If you're visiting this website, we're guessing that you already know a little bit about us. Either that, or you are looking for some other couple with our names, the picture to the right has clued you in that you are in the wrong place, and you are about to click the "back" button on your browser and keep searching.

Okay, assuming you are still here, you must want to learn a little bit more about the two of us — like perhaps how we met. In the summer of 2005 Brandon was spending his days studying for the bar exam, and several nights per week reliving his little league glory days by playing softball. One of his softball teams was a coed team; strangely enough, nerdy law students have a hard time finding competent female softball players, and the team was constantly searching for replacements. Until, that is, his friend Matt showed up with two girls named Natalie and Kelly. Kelly was a friend of Matt's from college, and Natalie was her partner in crime. They were great softball players, ultra-competitive, and pretty darn good looking to boot. Unfortunately for Brandon he was dating someone else... fortunately he had found a permanent fixture for the softball team!

You see, Kelly had just returned to Minnesota after spending a couple years as a ski instructor/design assistant/barista/all-around ski bum in Park City. She was just getting used to life in Minneapolis again, and though she was also dating someone else, she later confessed to finding that shaggy-haired Brandon to be "awfully cute." And it didn't hurt that he flirted mercilessly with her throughout each and every game.

Summer turned to fall, and the newly dominant softball team continued to destroy the U of M intramural competition. But after the season was over, there was a new twist. Both were now single, and that suave Brandon took the opportunity to cajole Kelly into a date. And though he was appalled by the bad manners of her crazy mutt (a situation that has since been rectified), he found himself coming back for more. One date turned into two, then into three... by the spring of 2006, the kids were spending an awful lot of time together.

In the blink of an eye a year or two had passed, and what had once been a boatload of innocent softball field flirting had transformed into a full-fledged romance. It wasn't long before Brandon found himself visiting a jeweler, and it was time for that next step.

Never one for leaving things to chance, Brandon did his best to plan out the big moment. It was a beautiful winter evening right after Christmas; not too cold, not too windy, with just a light flurry of snow falling. He knew Kelly loved winter, and they both loved the outdoors, so what better way to make the moment special then to do it on a lovely little walk. And to make it even more special, he decided to bring the (now most well-mannered) mutt into the mix. Abbey would wear the ring on her collar, he would draw Kelly's attention to it, he would kneel down to get it, etc. etc. Pure magic.

Well, the best laid plans and all of that. Kelly decided that she had no interest in going for a walk, fearing that it would turn into some sort of marathon late-night winter mountain climbing training hike. Instead she decided she would just put on her pajamas before the two of them opened Christmas presents. Laughing on the inside (what else could he do at this point?), Brandon slipped the box in her stocking. After the presents had been opened, the stockings remained. Kelly opened the box, saw the ring, and started to cry. But she wasn't too surprised to insist, through the tears, "you've got to get down on one knee." Probably not exactly the moment she had envisioned, but one that will be memorable nonetheless.

Well folks, now you know the "story of us." We are really looking forward to having you join us on June 21st for the wedding celebration. Unless you were looking for a different Kelly and Brandon... in which case you can't come. But thanks for reading anyway.
